I know we say it every year...stop with the Christmas atmosphere before Thanksgiving. But let me say it again for this year...Stop with the Christmas atmosphere!
Look, no one likes Christmas better than me: wreaths and holly...curling up by the fire to watch two hundred hours of Halmark Channel holiday movies dressed in my sexiest elf costume. And I want it here faster than most people do. But I suppose the fact that Thanksgiving falls so early this year means we have to break out the eggnog and mistletoe a little earlier too. I read somewhere today that Wal-Mart already has Black Friday deals up. At my house there's a simple rule: no holiday music until after Thanksgiving dinner. No Frank Sinatra singing "Let it Snow," no Band Aid singing "Do They Know it's Christmas," no Burl Ives belting out "It's a Holly Jolly Christmas." Is it too much to ask for all the malls and discount store to do the same? I'll be getting presents together soon though. No peaking!
